This proved to be a great experience as he learnt the basic fundamentals of the game from coach Ron Derley. 1969 Graham played in the Under 16's competition in which his club Woy Woy won the premiership. 1970 Graham started in the under 16's team until the 1st grade centre broke his leg which elevated Graham to this position. Graham was only 16, however, he was lucky to have John Shortland (A former South Sydney Lower Grader) as captain / coach and inside centre who taught him a lot and looked after him on and off the field. Graham also acknowledges the whole team's genuine concern for his welfare. Graham's team won the competition that year and was approached by Cronulla Saints and Manly Sea Eagles. He chose to go to Manly. Graham turned 17 in November 1970 and went to Sydney to begin his NRL career and his 12 tests for the Kangaroos. click here to access Graham's Manly Warringah Playing Days Graham's NRL Stats Graham is a member of the NSW FOGS (Former Origin Greats) and Men of League.
